Wythe Presbyterian Church understands service as part of everyday faithfulness.
It is not separate from worship or community life. It grows out of the church’s relationship to the neighborhood and from a long habit of paying attention to what is needed close by. Service is the foundation of the Wythe congregation’s mission.
In the Church
Some forms of service happen within the church itself. People help make worship possible from week to week, and they take responsibility for work that needs to be done. That kind of involvement matters because it keeps the church grounded in shared responsibility rather than passive attendance.
In the Community
Service also reaches beyond Sunday morning. Wythe has a history of working alongside local partners and staying involved in the life of the surrounding community. The church supports ministries that address immediate needs, including food collection and seasonal outreach.
The congregation also takes part in A Night’s Welcome through HELP, offering hospitality during the winter shelter season. At Christmas, the congregation shares in Gift Away so that families who need extra help can choose gifts with dignity and without cost.
