At Wythe Presbyterian Church, we enjoy one another’s company.
That shows up throughout the year, not only in worship but in the time people choose to spend together beyond it.
Some gatherings are planned ahead of time. Others grow out of the church’s ordinary rhythm. A potluck supper, a seasonal event, game nights, movie nights, or a neighborhood gathering can become something people look forward to because it strengthens the relationships at the heart of the church.
Wythe has deep ties to the neighborhood and takes part in it’s shared life.
The church participates in all of the Wythe Neighborhood Association Community events including the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, The 4th of July Parade, and the Fall Festival. During the summer and fall, Wythe often uses the park to host outdoor worship.
Over the Christmas holiday, the church often Christmas Carols throughout the neighborhood spreading the joy of Christmas.
At the same time, the Church's sense of community reaches well beyond the blocks. Some members walk to church, others come from farther away because of the connections they have found here. Through worship online, people also stay connected from across the country and beyond.
One thing that makes Wythe so unique is the diversity we share. The congregation includes people of differing ages, ethnic backgrounds, sexualities, and walks of life. We are proud to be inclusive of everyone, because we believe that Jesus love extends to all. Our shared life reflects that vast diversity so much that even our potluck suppers tell part of the story. Along side fried chickena, deviled eggs, amd casseroles, the table will also include soups, noodles, samosas, and sushi.
