Visiting a church for the first time can bring a lot of big and small questions with it.
This page is meant to answer some of them and help you get a sense of what Sunday morning is like at Wythe Presbyterian Church.
Wythe is a congregation with deep roots in the neighborhood and a strong sense of community. Some people live close enough to walk to church. Others come from farther away because of the relationships they have found here. Wherever you are coming from, we hope your first visit feels clear and comfortable.
What to Expect on Sunday Morning
Sunday Mornings have a variety of activities for everyone. Feel free to join us at any point in the morning. Some come to everything and others come only for a portion. Either way, all are welcome!
Children's Music Time 10:15
This is a fun time for the children to sing songs, play instruments, and experience the joy of praising and worshiping. It is held at the front of the sanctuary.
Sunday School 10:30
We have three Sunday school options for various ages:

Sunday Worship 11:30
The service includes prayer, scripture, music, and a sermon. It holds on to traditional elements while feeling a little more relaxed in tone. A bulletin is provided each week, and congregational responses and song lyrics are also projected on a large screen at the front of the sanctuary.

Music is an important part of worship at Wythe. The congregation sings Amazing Grace every Sunday in response to the Prayer of Confession. In addition to the church’s musician, a praise band leads music periodically, and the youth handbell choir plays on special Sundays throughout the year.
What Should I Wear?
Attire is casual. On some special Sundays, such as Pentecost or World Communion Sunday, the congregation is encouraged to wear clothing that reflects the diversity of the church and the cultures represented within it. Members of the Myanmar community often share traditional clothing on those occasions, which has become a meaningful part of the day.
Children in Worship
Children of all ages are welcome in worship. Toddlers through 2nd grade generally begin in the sanctuary to participate in the opening activities and the children’s sermon. After the children’s sermon, they can move into our dedicated child time space for engaging activities if they and their parent prefer them not to remain in the sanctuary. Infants are welcome to stay in worship or can receive love and care in our children’s room. We want your whole family to be happy and comfortable, so you choose what works best for your family. Drawing pads and fidget boxes are available to entertain children who decide to stay in the sanctuary.
Parking and
Entering the Building
Wythe has a church parking lot, with additional parking available on Robinson Road. Visitors can enter from the back lot or through the sanctuary doors at the front of the church.
The building has two levels that are accessed separately. There is a ramp into the sanctuary to the left of the main doors. The fellowship hall can be entered through the doors to the left of the sanctuary entrance. Accessible bathrooms are located on the sanctuary level, where the adult Sunday School class also meets.
